3.0.1 Changes
- filemgr and the file command
will no longer stage in a partially released file. See the
SAM-FS man page release(1).
- archiver and releaser are more tightly coupled. If the releaser
cannot release to the low-water mark, it will signal the archiver to
make a pass at the file system. The archiver will signal the releaser
when it has finished and the releaser will try again.
- Processes allocating disk space will no longer receive
ENOSPC if the
disk cache fills. These processes will be put to sleep until there is
space to continue. The process is interruptible while it is asleep.
- If a processes is staging a file and the disk cache fills, the stage will
abort and the job will receive
ENOSPC. We cannot put a staging process
to sleep since the media being staged might be needed by the archiver.
This could produce a deadlock condition.
